Well.. its a quiz.

Well this is pretty much just another quiz. Im not saying its bad, but with quizzes I personally dont give that high of scores, because A: you need to specifially know the info in the quiz and B: theres never any animation and if any very little or very bad. Thats why it would be nice to see a bit of an animation when you get it wrong and right. It would add to the gameplay. Even a better menu would be nice to see somthing more sleek somthing more vibrant somthing that makes you want to do the quiz. Anyway okay game, but nothing overley appealing.

A bit unorginal.

Im all up for your easy to play game, that you apperntley cant lose, but this is just missing something flashy. Where is the "PLAY THIS!!" type of slogan or artwork? No where. And that in my opinon hurt the graphics score. The graphics themselves werent bad its just that they werent great ether. They looked smooth and sleek, but nothing that another above average flash artist couldent do. The gameplay itself was also quite boring, even with music and the end result just wasent that great. Above average game.

DingoEatingFuzz responds:

Personally, I believe this game is a lot more original than most of the other contest entries just because it has something new to offer. The others all seemed to play like DDR, play to avoid things, or not even incorporate synching music. By integrating the rudiments system, this game has something new and fresh to play with. If you take the time to learn the rudiments, use them to your advantage, and really get lost in the rythyms of the music, I think you will find yourself doubting your own criticism about the originality.

Thats it?

Wow, I was expecting a short easy game, but this took maybe 20 seconds to complete. Anyway the graphics sure were nice, the tacos looked very detailed as did Luis. Even the background was done well, to bad that that was really the only major differences in things in this flash. Maybe levels or a higher goal would make this better. Or even a little side animation of him being satisfied. Nonetheless not a bad game, it was fun while it lasted and the shortness does give it a slight replay value. Good work.

Rudy responds:

Thank you. I really appreciate the review. My buddy and I was thinking of this idea when we realized "oh crap -- today is Luis Day!" So we whipped this together, me doing the animation, and him coding it -- and we ended up making this. I really hope to make it harder later on. If you haven't seen the loosing sequence you should loose on purpose and check it out. I recommend stay on the LEFT side of the screen to activate loosing all the lives (more tacos are located on the right.)

Alot of noobs.

Well there sure are alot of noobs in this game. Nonetheless cool idea you thought up, maybe not exactley the most orginal, but it had its own mexican flavour ;) It would be nice if there would be some sort of boss or somthing instead of endless noobs. Nonetheless the graphics were nice, but the simplicity of them and boring overall look of the noob and spam didnt really help the graphics. Luis himself looks nice though.. ;) Anyway not a bad game, but not a great one. Just one of those average games, at least its better then pong...

Fion responds:

All your comments I agree with strongly, I made this game over the course of a single day so no extreme effort was put in, I was in a rush and the idea was just something shitty I thought up. Thanks for your review.

A bit annoying.

This is an okay submission, but a bit annoying. What I mean is, when I "draw" im always a bit early because the "draw" message dosent appear right on the red part, but in the middle. Which is frusterating :/ Anyway the graphics werent anything to gawk at, but they werent horrible. The gameplay was fun too, but once you beat everything since the difficulty DIDINT change.. it got really boring. Anyway average game, somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Kart-Man responds:

Lol, my original intent was to get you to draw in the middle of the red zone. However, I do see your point. I guess I'll fix it to avoid any further grievances. And I updated it with slightly harder gameplay in the later rounds already. Don't know if it's still too easy though. XD Thanks for playing anyway.

Very good.

This is one on the best rock out contest submission I have seen so far. Easiley fits in the top five, maybe even the top three. The simple, but elegant graphics of the squares and the background worked very well together and looked awesome. The game was orginal in its own way and wasnt to hard right off to begin with. Truly one of the better submission in the contest and normally. Great, fun submission.

itsjms responds:

wow. I love you.

Interesting, anyway.

Very interesting concept to the game at least, the style of play is very orginal, but thats the best part to this submission. The rest isnt the greteast out there. What you need to do is polish off your graphics, get some tutorials and really make the fire look good, or somthing like that since its a great idea and alot of fun to play. There isnt alot of replay value though, and a level creator can fix that. Anyway good game, just lacks in the graphics.

blakramer responds:

could someone please give me some actionscript or references.
we'll take care of the graphics

Nice game.

Definatley one of the top tier games here at NG. Truley one of the masterpieces the site has to offer. Noentheless, the graphics were nice and worked well with the game, they didint overwhelm me or anyone else, but it still looked very nice. The gamplay too, was a refreshing take on a good adventure/action game, it really made you want to finish the game, although I didint I felt that there probebley should be checkpoints set out. After playing for 10 minutes, getting to a deep part into the game, being sent back to the start is just to discouriging. Anyway nice, game good work.

NegativeONE responds:

Hm. There are a couple of checkpoints in every level, and once you've beaten a level, it stays beaten unless you return to the main menu. Thanks for the kind words all the same.
