lol

This is a funny submission. I liked the change in color at the end of the guy's arms, and I like the general creativity of the submission. What I didn't like about this submission was the background and lack of quality it brought to the submission. It seemed like one of those things that you just threw out there for the sake of putting on something nice, sort of like dress shoes at a semi formal party. The green monocle brings the one spark of color to the submission, that one difference and that's probably the best part of this submission in my eyes.

Havegum responds:

You forgot the part about COFFEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Also thanks for your review!

A bit odd.

Maybe it's me, but I found this submission odd. It's probably just your style, but I found odd like I said, but also out dated. Almost like a pre 2000 computer game that didn't pan out. I mean it's a nice character design, but it lacks the depth that you would expect out something really good. Meh, it's just one guys opinion, but I don't like this submission.

VidGameDude responds:

that's ok i accept your opinion.
i understand it the environment in which the bot is in. for you see i cant texture that well but only for models.

i mean since i've only been using 3ds max for about 10 months.

but again its ok, thanks for the review.

Pro quality

Now here is a submission that you probably already know is professional quality. The various tones and shades which are probably easy to you are a great mismash of fear and turmoil. The mechanized Dad N' Me Dad looks not only bloody but deadly as well, and there really isn't much I can say that you could improve on. Very good work.

ImpendingRiot responds:

Wow, thank you so much. That's really encouraging.

Cool

Well this is a cool submission I suppose, that's really all you can say about it. There really isn't any defining qualities about this submission, and that really makes it another one of those "average" art submissions. I like the emphasis you put on the face and hand flashing the two sign, but it almost serves as items to try to make you not notice some other aspects of this submission. For example I disliked how badly done the hat was, it doesn't look realistic, or even cartoony, it just looks like a mess. Like I said this isn't a bad submission, but nothing that blows anyone anyway.

NikkyRawrs responds:

Thanks for the criticism. I'll keep these things in mind, but just for future reference, I don't actually spend a lot of time coloring or drawing my pictures. I was actually unmotivated to finish this picture, but since I had put it on hold for so long, guilt set in.

However, I appreciate your criticism. Thank you.

Meh

Maybe because of what it is I'm not really impressed, or maybe because it isn't the colored version like you had earlier, but I don't really like this submission. I found the white black coloring depicting the hair to be lazy, used to just fill out space you had. The crusty skin itself might look detailed as well, but in reality it's just a few clever lines put together to create a 3d look a long with what appears to be skin pimples or something. Meh, this doesn't strike me as that amazing.

Nicol3 responds:

- The purpose of art in general is not to "impress" the viewer, but more so-- to let the work serve as a window into the mind of another person.

- I'd love some elaboration on your definition of "Amazing". Kick, zing, power, composition?

- Drawings are made up of lines-- some using line variety and texture to give off a 3-dimensional look. I thought that was the point--

- It's just a doodle mang -- i ain't no salvador dali moda' fucka

Very nice.

The first thing you notice about this submission is the protruding neck veins, to me I thought that was a bit exaggerated, but fully encompasses the comic book style of exaggeration. The lips and mouth were a nice change of color to the otherwise dull shades, and of course like you said the background isn't that creative. Cool submission, I think you did the job you set out to do, and quite well at that.

lol

Can't say i've seen too much of this movie, so I don't find this that funny, but it's an interesting submission either way. I personally like the shading around the chin of the doctor, it gives it a more defined and well thought out look. I also liked how you used actual pictures of character's faces for the background's people. To me, the suit seems a bit off from the rest of the piece, it seems rushed and a little bit clumsy, but that's just me. Overall, I think it's a wonderful submission.

Neat

Well this submission is an interesting one. I wouldn't say that it has any great qualities to it in terms of eye candy, but it reminds me of Russia back in the cold war and back during the berlin wall. My history isn't that great so I can't tell if this is actually someone in history or not, nonetheless it's a cool submission, maybe requiring a bit more of a refined taste.

Cave-o-wonders responds:

thanks for the review man, this morning i woke up and watched gangs of new york, and bill the butcher is the main villain in it, great movie, i was so hyped up about him that i took a shelf of my wall and painted bill on it, check the movie out tho man its awesome

Neat little thing

I have to say this is some fine work. Some fine detail and some fine colors, but where's the angle? Where's the message? This seems to me like a submission showcasing the struggle between good and evil, but there doesn't seem to be an actual plot or even some sort of background into this submission. This submission is like eating fine chocolate right after eating a dinner; sure it tastes good, but it's not something you haven't ever had or really need.

I've seen this sort of thing.

I'll be honest in my several plus years here and around the basis of photoshop art and other things like that I have have seen this type of thing many many times, and again, not going to lie this is really near the top, even at the top you could say, but again there's a sort of originality aspect to someone's style and ability. And although this is a great looking space drawing, everyone in the world over has done things like this, which just saturates the pot.
